2006 Baptisms at Middleburg UMC

Just want to share with you the "good news" from the Middleburg UMC in the Casey County Cluster of the Corbin District.

Shown here is the wonderful photo of the Children/Youth, who were baptized by Pastor Bill Hill after they made commitments to Christ at the VBS.

In the last year with Pastor Bill's excellent leadership, the church has grown from 35 in worship to over 50 in worship (43% increase in worship attendance each Sunday Morning).

They have broken ground for a new "Fellowship/Recreation Building".

Pastor Bill and a team are in Mississippi today doing "Katrina Relief Ministry".

Pastor Bill and the church are a wonderful example of how a smaller church can grow and be alive and HEALTHY!

When I am with the people, you can just sense their "love and enthusiasm" for the Lord and to serve the community.

Pastor Bill is 63 years old and a retired Naval Aviator and a retired teacher/principal of the Middleburg Elementary School.

He was the "Lay Leader" of the church and wonderfully respected by and connected with so many folks in the church and the community.

He completed his "License to Preach School" in May, and is growing the church.

He and the Middleburg UMC Family are an excellent example of how to grow a smaller church, and give it a future. May his tribe increase!

In Christ, Who makes us a CLUSTER OF LIVING GRAPES and not a box of dead raisins,
Terry Faris, Corbin D.S.
