Corbin Area Summer Cluster Gathering

Barbourville WaterparkOn Sunday, August 14, over 150 United Methodists from the Corbin Area Cluster (Whitley, McCreary, Knox, Bell) gathered at the Barbourville Water Park for a great time of food, fellowship, sharing, and re-creation.

Special thanks to Barbourville First UMC (Joel Allen, Pastor) and Trace Branch UMC (Delila Miller, Pastor) for hosting the event and preparing delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, brats, and all the trimmings, and all the other churches for bringing potluck salads, vegetables, and desserts.

We began with our Picnic Supper at 5:00 pm, and then from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, we had the Water Park all to ourselves for a cost of only $225, paid for by the Corbin District Fund.

We had lots of young couples with children and youth, and everyone enjoyed the Water Park. For those who didn't swim, there was a great time of sharing and testimonies in the Picnic Pavilion.

Wonderful to hear testimonies from the Pastors and Church Families, and also to hear from Dr. Ed de Rosset, President of Union College, and David Miller, Union College Campus Minister.

Local Churches represented were: Whitley City, Corbin First, Corbin Trinity, Felts Chapel, Williamsburg, Pleasant View, Barbourville, Trace Branch, Pineville, and Middlesboro.
