2004 New District Superintendents

Bishop James King has announced the appointment of 3 new District Superintendents to his cabinet, and they are in the photo from left to right: Lowell Ogden, Becki Curry, and Kenneth Cummings, Sr. They will officially begin their new ministry on July 1 after Annual Conference (June 2-6).

3 New District Superintendents Kenneth Cummings, Sr. is being assigned to the Frankfort District. He is presently the Pastor of the Wesley UMC in Lexington, Ky. He and his wife, Anita, have three children: Kenneth II, Kenya and Kendra. Rev. Cummings is the author of "The Relationships of Jesus."

Becki Curry is being assigned to the Owensboro District. She is presently the Associate Pastor of the Henderson First UMC in Henderson, Ky. She and her husband, Ken, have two sons: Michael and David. Rev. Curry is a native of Louisville, and one of her greatest joys is being able to visit and stay with her parents when the Cabinet meets in the Louisville area.

Lowell Ogden is being assigned to the Prestonsburg District. He is presently the Pastor of the Shelbyville Centenary UMC in Shelbyville, Ky. He and his wife, Ginny, have two children: Jeff and Jill, and two grandchildren (Logan and Elizabeth), and a 3rd grandchild that will be born in late March.

Lowell and Terry Faris attended Asbury College together, and it was exactly 40 years ago (Fall of 1964) that they took Greek 101 under the teaching of Professor Ruth Fess. Great memories!

We give thanks for Kenneth, Becki, and Lowell and their families, and we pray for them all and also for their Church Families and Districts during this time of change and transition.

In 2005, Becki Curry became the Assistant to Bishop James King, and Dale Carden became the new D.S. of the Owensboro District.
