Easter came early again this year. It seems that Christmas 2004, was just last week! The older I become, the faster time flies.
Have you thought about time lately? How you spend it... how little there seems to be of it? I am constantly reminded of time's precious value, and how wasteful we can be of this God given resource.
I believe that time is too precious to waste. We become so busy running from this place to that. Of course we have dry cleaning to pick up... groceries to buy... kids to transport. All of this is part of a busy man or woman's life. But should this be?
I can remember when Mom and Dad had one car. I can remember when the drug store and the grocery store were not on every corner, and usually the corner store was on the other side of town. Gas was cheap (.32/gal), but going to the store more than once a week was out of the question. Mom and Dad made sure they made a list of what was needed, so that they wouldn't waste a lot of time running back and forth to the store. We had a lot of time left over. My sister and I always had our breakfast and dinner meals with Mom and Dad. Mom would take my sister to ballet, and take me to Little League practice and games. That was it. The rest of the time we played in the neighborhood with other kids that had a family life thanks to parents who knew how to use their time wisely.
I wonder what happen to precious time. Maybe we have adapted well to spending our precious time on non-precious, non-important things. Too bad. Time is too precious a resource to spend unwisely.
Maybe this year we can celebrate the resurrection of Christ and the resurrection of the preciousness of our God given time. Do you think we have time to do that?
