God's Fruit Basket How pleasing it is to cruise the produce section of the local supermarket! A colorful array of vegetables and fruit displayed in glorious fashion pleases the eye. The aroma of fresh oranges, ripening bananas and a wealth of other wonderful natural foods greets the nose. Our gracious Father has lovingly and freely given this bounty to us. "Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed . . . and every tree which has fruit . . . it shall be food for you." Genesis 1:29 Fruit baskets appearing on our doorsteps and in the reception rooms of offices all around are a true blessing of the season. What a wonderful reminder of God's love and grace. May you be reminded of how much God loves you every time you see a fruit basket this holiday season. The Lord gives fruit of a greater nature to those that walk by the Spirit. Galatians 5:22-23 provides a beautiful display of the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. How awesome it is to have these fruit in our baskets!
May God bless the congregations of the Corbin District of the United Methodist Church this Advent season. May your heart be filled with the fruit of the Spirit!
