As we have traveled across the Corbin District, we have given the local churches hundreds of the little wooden crosses made by Don Mercurio, of the Covenant UMC in La Grange, Ky. His ministry is literally all over the world, and he has touched thousands of people with the work of his loving and creative hands.

After a battle with cancer, Don went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 2, 2004.

His sons, Allen and Mark, will continue their Dad's ministry of cross making.

At Don's Funeral/Memorial Service at Covenant UMC on Jan. 5, his son Mark said to us: "As I watched Dad grow older, he looked more and more like Jesus to me!"
