9/11

Sept 11, 1960
Because of Sept. 11, 2001, the term 9/11 will forever be a part of our language.

But 9/11 also has another meaning for me.

It was on that date 9/11/60 that I knelt at an altar of prayer at the Central Methodist Church in Maysville, Ky., and gave my life to Jesus Christ. I was a 14 year old sophomore in high school, and that is the "happy day that fixed my choice on Jesus Christ," now and forever.

In the photo, the bronze plaque is on a piece of the old altar from the church. When they built a new altar years ago, the furniture maker (Raymond Hester) saved a piece of it for me, and later Clyde Enix of Middlesboro, Ky. made the plaque for me.

This sacred piece of my history is right above our Corbin District Altar in the parsonage, and is a daily reminder of God's grace and faithfulness to me over all these years.
