One of the real treasures of the Corbin District is Union College (Kentucky's First College in the Mountains), and President Ed and Lou Ann de Rosset. Ed has served at Union College for over 20 years, and on Sept. 30, he was inaugurated as the 17th President of Union College. Lou Ann is Dean of Graduate Studies, and they are a great team for the college.
It was a great joy for Judy and me on Dec. 7 to attend their "Open House" at "The President's House" on the campus of Union College. This beautiful and historic home was wonderfully decorated for the Advent/Christmas Season, with lights and colors all over the house, the sound of carols, fantastic food, and warm and gracioius hospitality. What a joy to see and visit with so many of our friends from the college, the church, and the community, and to make new friends yesterday. I even had the opportunity to give away my wooden cross to a new friend.
In the photo are Ed and Lou Ann with Judy and me in front of one of the beautiful Christmas Trees in the house.
In the kitchen, we saw our Christmas gift to them ("Hot Mitts" with the "Cross and Flame) hanging from their oven door, and the Earnest Mann wooden cross made from the beautiful purple wood from Costa Rica, was in the nursery.
Ed and Lou Ann are expecting their first child (a little girl: Chloe Rose de Rosset) on Jan. 13, 2006 (see update below).
We love you all, and our best days are ahead because of Jesus!
In Christ, Who is the REASON for the season,

UPDATE on Chloe Rose Glad to share with you that little Chloe Rose de Rosset was born on Thursday, Dec. 22. She was due on Jan. 13, but decided she wanted to be here as a Christmas Gift to her Mom and Dad, Lou Ann and Ed de Rosset.
We rejoice with Ed and Lou Ann, the Union College Family, the Barbourville UMC Family, and the whole community.
Shown above is a good photo of Ed and Lou Ann (and Chloe), with Judy and me at their "Open House" on Dec. 7 at Barbourville.
In Christ,
Terry and Judy Faris, Corbin District
