During our summer vacation, Alaskan Cruise and Tour of the West (somebody has to do it), one of the highlights was our rendezvous with Tom and Judy Morris in Spokane, Washington. They live only 80 miles away in Moscow, Idaho and we had a wonderful supper and 3 hour visit together with them, and also Ralph and Peggy Mink traveling with us.
Tom was an active and growing member of the First United Methodist Church in Middlesboro, Ky. during our ministry there. He came to us in 1976, as a 22 year old recent college graduate, and he moved from Middlesboro in 1979. He worked for the local radio station (WMIK), and was the sportscaster for the games of the Middlesboro High School "Yellow Jackets."
It was a joy to watch Tom grow in the Lord, as he was active in the Young Adult Sunday School Class and Fellowship, and a faithful member of the Choir. He was founded and grounded in the Word of God, and became a strong follower and disciple of Jesus.
We lost track with him over the years, and about 2 weeks before our vacation, we received a wonderful e-mail from him. He found us by the Internet, as he got the information from the Church Website in Middlesboro. We were able to work out the rendezvous, and just wanted to share this story and photos with you.
Tom and his wife, Judy, have been married for 17 years and have 2 lovely children and are a Christian Family, very active in their local church. Tom is the Assistant Athletic Director of the University of Idaho Department of Athletics, and travels with the teams as the sportscaster. He travels all over America, including Hawaii (somebody has to do it), and greatly enjoys his life, ministry, and witness for the Lord.
Congratulations (with grace) to the Church Family in Middlesboro, for the fruit of your past ministry that extends into the present and the future for the glory of God!
