To the pastor,
Concerning your question posed to me recently stating "What would you look for when selecting a church to attend?", the following summarizes a list of what myself & my peers feel are the most important aspects of church. If the selection were left up to us, these would be the things we would look for:
- A church on fire for God.
- A strong youth ministry.
- A church that assists others in the community.
- A pastor that cares about seeing souls saved.
- A fun, exciting & educational youth group.
- The pastor & congregation genuinely care, & you feel welcome.
- Lots of singing.
- Clean, neat & modern facilities.
- A comfortable atmosphere.
- A church that demonstrates acceptance of different races & backgrounds.
- Shows concern for the well-being of others in the community.
- An abundance of Christian youth activities.
- Ample chances for youth to be involved in ministry.
- A pastor willing to baptize in accordance with the wishes of the one being baptized.
- A church supportive of others in times of need, uncertainty & struggle.
- Interesting sermons & classes. (Challenge our minds!)
I want to thank you for allowing me to participate in this survey. It has made me think about what churches need to be successful.
Sincerely,
Jessica Wesley
